Our Staff

Andrew Washington, General Manager

After several years in the retail display industry, Andrew joined the JMP team to further assist the company’s strong offerings to the Australian retail packaging market. After successfully managing some of JMP’s most important retail customers, in early 2023 Andrew took over the reigns of running JMP as a purely retail and ecommerce packaging business.

Simon O’Donnell, Retail Sales Manager

Simon has been with JMP for over 20 years and helped founders Paul (his father) and Jeff develop JMP into a multi-million dollar award winning packaging business. Simon’s focus has been on developing leading edge suppliers globally, whilst securing ethical and sustainable certifications such as GECA and FSC and of course managing some of the largest retail packaging accounts in Australia, including Myer, The Just Group and Accent Group, just to name a few.

Liz Foulds, Business Development Manager

Liz adds valuable global retail knowledge to the JMP team hailing all the way from her native New York. Having joined JMP in 2022, Liz has held several roles across global retail brands like Gap, which include store management, production manager and project coordinator. Liz utilises her depth of knowledge in management, production and procurement to service a large number of JMP’s retail customers.

Connor Murphy, Business Development Manager

Connor joined the business in 2022 as an Assistant Account Manager to Andrew Washington. After being mentored by Andrew for more than a year, Connor was promoted in 2023 to the role of Business Development Manager, where he also manages many retail packaging accounts.

Adrianna Mizuro, Business Development Manager

Adrianna had a strong sales background before joining JMP as an assistant to Simon O’Donnell. With her excellent administration and account management skills it was only a matter of time before Adrianna was promoted to BDM, where she manages and develops new business for some of Australia and the worlds most recognisable brands.

Harry Cole, Business Development Manager

Harry joined JMP as Assistant Account Manager to help manage large retail brands such as Target. After less than a year at JMP, Harry’s excellent work ethic and relentess drive has seen him move into the BDM role where he now heads up the account management for Target along with many prominant Australian retail brands.

Damien Meade, Transport Manager

Damien came to JMP more than 15 years ago in the role of Warehouse Manager, bringing with him a long history in warehousing and logistics. As Transport Manager, Damien now oversees our ever increasing transport and logistics requirements.

Case Studies

Coles paper bags

JMP retail has teamed up with major Australian supermarkets, including COLES, to design a sustainable paper bag that can be used across all areas of their grocery business. Traditionally, paper bags were designed for retail use which rarely, if ever, involved carrying products taken out of refrigerators or freezers.

The challenge was designing a kraft paper bag that met the distinct functionality requirements of a grocery shop whilst incorporating sustainable materials and end of use kerbside recyclability.

JMP retail embarked on a 12-month journey testing various kraft papers across Europe, Asia and North America that would work both instore and through the supermarkets online delivery channels.

The net result was securing a unique recycled kraft paper that not only met and exceeded the strength requirements but is able to handle cold room environments and subsequent condensation from products.

DAVID JONES PLASTIC TO PAPER

Retail label DAVID JONES was required to make the move from plastic to paper bags in Western Australia when the state initiated their Plastic Bag Ban campaign in 2022. As the national transition was inevitable DAVID JONES decided to roll paper out throughout all stores nationally following up WA’s due date in July 2022.

The process was long and thorough, with our team at JMP retail analysing costings, sampling and trialing with many different sizes, paper weights and designs that were needed to find the most suitable range to fit the brand’s objectives. Look and Feel, budged and DAVID JONES’ sustainable ‘Good Business Journey’ needed to be strongly considered to achieve the desired results.

Paper bags can hold more than 10 times the cubic space than plastic bags do, complicating the storing and distribution of the critical asset, so part of the transition included our JMP retail team to also re-educate them on their ordering process to ensure they can manage their required and adequate stock holdings throughout the ever changing seasonal trends.

JMP retail continues to provide the label reassurance with the functional framework solutions in store and distribution from all major cities in Australia, seamlessly contributing on the best end-to-end solution to make these large-scale transition projects a simple but effective achievement.
